The Berkeley Charleston Dorchester (BCD) Council of Governments (COG) has scheduled a Public Meeting to solicit public comment and input concerning the proposed .075 mgd increase at the Harleyville Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The Town of Harleyville is seeking an amendment to the BCD Water Quality Management Plan for an additional .075 mgd increase at the Harleyville WWTP. The proposed .075 mgd increase at the Harleyville WWTP will require a new NPDES discharge permit. Town of Harleyville proposes to discharge the permitted waste load allocation from its Harleyville WWTP.
The Public Meeting will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Harleyville Town Hall at 122 West Main Street, Harleyville, SC 29448.
The proposed amendment will be considered for approval by the BCDCOG following public review. Comments made at the Public Meeting or submitted in writing by June 5, 2023 will be in the public record for the Plan amendment proposal.

The Preliminary Engineering Report containing background information and justification for the amendment is available for public review at the Harleyville Town Hall offices located at 122 West Main Street, Harleyville, SC 29448 and the BCD Council of Governments’ office 5790 Casper Padgett Way, North Charleston, SC 29406.
