Public Notice: Proposed Minor Amendment to the BCDCOG 208 Water Quality Management Plan
Kiawah River Utility Company is proposing a minor amendment to the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) Regional 208 Water Quality Management Plan to increase the Kiawah River WWTP capacity to 129,000 gpd by adding new Kubota MBR treatment units and aerobic/anoxic swing zones for operational flexibility. The project received BCDCOG approval in 2015 for a total of 440,000 gpd under a phased scenario. The increased capacity is within the 440,000 gpd flow approved by BCDCOG and is part of a phased capacity increase plan which also received approval in 2015. Relevant documents are available for review at the BCDCOG offices.
All questions and comments on the proposed amendment must be submitted in writing by 5 p.m. on December 5, 2024.
