The SCDOT has announced their annual call for rural Section 5310 projects for FY 2025-2026. These are transportation projects that are designed to enhance the mobility of seniors and individuals with disabilities. Attached is the SCDOT’s memo which has details on funding availability and application requirements. Only projects that fall outside of the region’s census designated urban area (map attached) may qualify for the funding. Note that applications were due no later than July 25, 2025. BCDCOG has applied for $75,000 in Rural federal funds for capital funding to support its ongoing Mobility Management program which provides assistance to rural populations seeking transportation services within the tri-county region.
A public hearing is being offered to accept comments on the project if substantial interest is received at the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments office from August 4th to August 12th.
