Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) Hosting Public Open Houses for Rural Transportation Plan Update
Public input is invited to identify and address rural highway, transit, bike, and pedestrian needs.
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) is updating the Rural Long-Range Transportation Plan (RLRTP) for the region’s rural areas and is seeking community input at upcoming public open houses.
The information gathered from the public will be used to develop RLRTP project priorities for funding over the next twenty years. The public’s participation and input are encouraged by attending one or more of the upcoming open houses and/or by completing the survey at: bcdcog.com/rlrtp2040.
Open House Locations and Times
• December 10, 2024, 5:30-7:30 pm, Ravenel Community Hall, 5700 Conners St., Ravenel, SC 29470
• December 12, 2024, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, Dorchester County Library, 506 N. Parler Avenue, St. George, SC 29477
• December 17, 2024, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, Awendaw Town Hall, 6971 Doar Rd., Awendaw, SC 29429
• December 19, 2024, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, Bonneau Town Hall, 422 Municipal Ln, Bonneau SC, 29431
The Rural Long-Range Transportation Plan is a multimodal plan that will set priorities for spending federal funds on transportation projects in the region, over the next 20 years. These projects include improvements to highways, roads, bridges, transit facilities and services, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and related enhancements.
