NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (October 2, 2019) – The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments is currently updating its Long Range Transportation Plan for the region’s rural areas and the agency is seeking public input in doing so.

Long Range Transportation Plans are multimodal plans that set priorities for spending federal funds on transportation projects in the region over the next 25 years. These projects include improvements to highways, roads, bridges, transit facilities and service, bicycle and pedestrian routes, and related enhancements.

The BCDCOG will hold project public input meetings in each of the three counties starting next week, providing the public a chance to participate and share input on how transportation can be improved for the future. Information gathered at the meetings will be used to develop LRTP project priorities for funding over the next twenty years.
