REGIONAL PLANNER AND REGION’S FIRST VANPOOL COORDINATOR JOIN AGENCY
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 3, 2022) – The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments has expanded its staff with two recent hires. Courtney Cherry joins as the BCDCOG’s first vanpool coordinator, while Wyatt Stitley comes aboard as a regional planner.
“BCDCOG continues to grow with the region,” said Ron Mitchum, the planning agency’s executive director. “We have an outstanding team already in place and we are pleased to add additional resources to our vanpool program and planning work by welcoming Courtney and Wyatt.”
Courtney Cherry, Vanpool Coordinator
As Lowcountry Go Vanpool Coordinator, Cherry will lead BCDCOG’s effort to connect employers and employees with affordable and convenient vanpool options, which have never before been available on a regional scale.
Cherry’s previous career experience at the Social Security Administration and AmeriCorps will be an asset as she develops relationships with those in the region seeking to address work-related transportation issues.
“Lowcountry Go Vanpool is an incredible opportunity for many workers to access jobs or, in the case of employers, the full workforce,” Cherry said. “In my new role, I look forward to building partnerships that grow the program and make a difference in the lives of residents and regional industry.”
Wyatt Stitely, Regional Planner
As a Regional Planner, Wyatt Stitely will work on projects involving everything from research and statistical reporting to grant administration, neighborhood revitalization and community development.
With a background in planning for both public and private sector agencies, Stitley is well equipped to assist with BCDCOG’s wide-ranging planning portfolio.
“I look forward to working with BCDCOG member governments and the broader community to help improve overall quality of life throughout the region,” Stitely said.
