Columbia, S.C. (July 18, 2024) — The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks public comment on the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.SCDOT will receive public comment for a 21-day period from July 18, 2024 through August 8, 2024.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation’s (SCDOT) Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is SCDOT’s 10-year (Federal Fiscal Year 2024-2033) prioritized listing of transportation projects that receive federal transportation funding or those that require approval from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) or the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). Federal regulations require each state to produce a STIP at least once every four years. The STIP is prepared in cooperation with local and regional agencies and stakeholders, and the information contained within the STIP includes the cost, schedule and funding sources for the identified projects.
SCDOT prioritizes opportunities for the public to provide input on transportation projects and priorities as part of the planning process. SCDOT encourages everyone to view the website and its materials and submit their comments.
To assist those who do not have internet access, a printed copy of this press release and any supporting information is available for public review and comment at any of the South Carolina Department of Transportation District Offices and the South Carolina Carolina Council of Government Offices

The STIP is revised on a continual basis to reflect the latest program and project information. A summary of substantive comments will be available to the Commission.
Pending no substantive comments, the DRAFT 2024-2033 STIP will be effective as of October 1, 2024.
