Proposed Amendment to the Regional 208 Water Quality Management Plan for Proposed Kiawah Resort Associates, L.P./Orange Hill Development Reclaimed Water Facility

The Berkeley Charleston Dorchester (BCD) Council of Governments (COG) has scheduled a Public Meeting to solicit public comment and input concerning the proposed Orange Hill Development Reclaimed Water Facility. Kiawah Resort Associates, L.P. is seeking an amendment to the BCD Regional 208 Water Quality Management Plan for the construction of a Non-Discharge Wastewater Treatment Facility that will serve a proposed golf course community with up to 120 residences and ancillary facilities.

The Public Meeting will be held August 21, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Community Room at the John’s Island Library, 3531 Maybank Highway, Johns Island, SC 29455.

The proposed amendment will be considered for approval by the BCDCOG following public review. Comments made at the Public Meeting or submitted in writing by September 5, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. will be in the public record for the Plan amendment proposal. Written comments should be submitted to the BCD Council of Governments, 5790 Casper Padgett Way, North Charleston, SC 29406. Individuals with questions concerning the proposed amendment may contact BCDCOG at (843) 529-0400 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Preliminary Engineering Report containing background information and justification for the amendment is available for public review at https://www.thomasandhutton.com/brxg and the BCDCOG office, located at 5790 Casper Padgett Way, North Charleston, SC 29406 and on online at www.bcdcog.com.
