Summary
The Communications Specialist will enhance the Agency’s external engagement efforts through social media content, online reputation management, video content creation, event tabling and community outreach. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with a passion for developing engaging content, building relationships, and promoting the Agency in an effective positive manner. Assists in the day-to-day operations of the Marketing and Communications department. Ensures Agency brand messaging is consistent, timely, and relevant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop, implement, and manage social media strategies across all platforms (e.g., Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn) to increase audience and engagement.
- Create consistent, engaging social media content calendars to maintain an effective online presence.
- Create and curate engaging content that aligns with our Agency brand voice and objectives.
- Monitor social media trends, track effectiveness of social media strategies, and adjust as needed.
- Prepare reports on engagement metrics, audience growth, and campaign performance.
- Respond to all social media and online comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor Agency brand online reputation through oversight of all Agency online platforms, outside of social media channels.
- Represent the Agency via information tabling at community events, fairs, and other external opportunities deemed appropriate to promote Agency and various projects.
- Develop engaging materials and presentations to effectively communicate our Agency messaging.
- Plan, script, shoot, and edit video content for social media, online platforms, and outreach initiatives.
- Ensure all video content adheres to the Agency branding guidelines and maintains a high level of quality.
- Collaborate with Agency team members to highlight key messages, events, and success stories.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, key community members and influencers.
- Contribute to the development of marketing and communication campaigns and initiatives.
- Assist in creating newsletters, brochures, and other marketing and communication materials.
- Collaborate with others in the Agency to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and materials.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in social media and online platforms.
- Two years’ marketing, public relations or social media experience are preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
- Strong writing and editing abilities, with attention to tone and style.
- Video creation and editing experience are preferred.
